What do Recep Erdogan, Donald Trump and Queen Elizabeth II have in common?

They have all been defamed by European media outlets in one way or another.    Now what is the difference between Queen Elizabeth II, Donald Trump and Recep Erdogan?   The latter is throwing his toys out of the pram and issuing threats to various countries to remove any and all poems, songs and/or pictures and photos that he (or his lackeys in government) feel are defamatory. Does Europe really need a country whose land mass is only 3% within the geographical area of Europe?   A country who, at this moment in time, is secular but is threatening now to re-assert it's Islamist ideology.   A country who is a NATO partner, but is/was buying oil from Daesh as well as treating their injured fighters and supplying them with weapons.   A country which is treating some of its minority citizens in an inhumane way by bombing them, not just in Turkey but in Syria and Iraq.   A country who is prepared to hold the EU to ransom over the mig...

The Pope tries to lead by example....and fails!

Yesterday the Holy See took it upon himself to visit the Greek island of Lesbos and to lead by example and take 12 Syrian families from the camp to Rome.   The Vatican has announced that it intends to lead by example and if every Roman Catholic parish in Europe would take one displace Syrian family then this would ease their plight. Lets examine this shall we? Would these Syrian families be vetted?    If the answer is YES, then okay pass to question two.   Would they live "as the Romans do"? i.e. not expect their hosts to moderate their religious and civil behaviour to suit them?   If the answer is YES, then okay pass to stage three. Would they sign a pledge that when Syria is deemed a safe country they will return to help with the rebuilding of this historic country?   If the answer is yes, then by all means stay.    If the answer is No to any of these questions then they cannot be helped, because by not agreeing...

Really? No Sh*t Sherlock!!!

Apparently Frontex (that toothless entity that is supposed to protect Europe) believes there is a likelihood that terrorists have infiltrated Europe posing as undocumented migrants. Really?!   When any normal rational non agenda driven citizen of Europe has been predicting that since 2013.... No-one should be let into Europe unless they have documentation to prove who they are.    Even during World War Two the displaced of Europe had papers on them to prove their identity, this is the same migration that the regressive left liken the current crisis to.   The difference?    Well..... the displaced in 1939-45 were grateful to be accepted anywhere, while this lot "demand" their rights to go to the country of their choice the displaced of 1939-45, on the whole, had their papers to prove their identit y, while this lot dispose of theirs in order to avoid being deported because they are not from the designated countries. the displaced in 1939-45 were...

If it doesn't work on a small scale it sure as hell won't on a global one!

Many years ago, back in the dim mists of time, I lived in a quiet country village in the South East of England.    This village had its usual "idiots" (every village has them) but on the whole they were harmless.   The local bobby had a little station and everyone knew who he was.   The majority of kids lived in fear of being chastised by the bobby, and him telling our parents, so on the whole we did as we were told. Then in the mid-80's/early 90's some "clever and enlightened" libterd in the county council thought it would be a great idea to bring in some of the more anti-social elements of a infamous council estate from a nearby town (Moulsecombe in Brighton).    These families were installed in our downland village so they could benefit and learn from the, largely self-policing, society we had.    Apparently, the idea being that the "halcyon idyll"  of village life would tame these anti-social scum bags and they would tr...
