Non-Political Maman

A British woman on holiday in Dubai was allegedly raped by two men in their hotel bedroom.   The two men videoed the alleged attack, but were not apprehended by the police in the UAE, they were allowed to leave and have subsequently returned to Britain. The woman has been charged with the offence of extra-marital sex.   She is on bail and staying with an English family.   She faces a £24,000 legal bill and incarceration should she be found guilty. Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but there are several things this poor woman could have done to prevent this. Don't travel alone, contrary to what the leftist media peddle, Islam is NOT a religion of peace, it is a misogynistic, homophobic ideology that holds a woman's word as worth half of that of a man.   Lest We Forget I have been moved to write this following an article I read today concerning the actions of the vice-president of In-flight service, Renée Smith-Valade, at Air Canada, who issued a memo to staff requesting they not wear a poppy on their uniforms.    Needless to say this caused something of a backlash and a few hours later the memo was rescinded.    Air Canada are not the first to meddle in the way we remember our war dead.    FIFA have taken it upon themselves (or rather Fatma Samoura took it upon herself) to declare the poppy to be a political symbol, when it is nothing of the sort.  This woman, whose elevation to the role of Secretary General of FIFA apparently didn't require a knowledge of football, has prohibited the wearing of the poppy on the England and Scotland kits that will be worn when the two sides go head to head on Friday 11th November.   Needless to say, this has caused a huge backlash...

The 8th of November is going to be the date that our grandchildren will be called upon to remember as one of the pivotal, important dates in modern history.
